Welcome to gr0x0rd's hockey pool. This pool has been around since 1997 and the format hasn't changed since. It's a great format, but it seems to run into issues when there are more than 20 players or so. That doesn't usually seem to be a problem for us though...

And as you can tell, I'm not much for UI design. So unless you want to volunteer your time, you get what you get.

If you want to know how it works, better check out the rules.

2021 Update
Welcome back.

This will be the second year running the hockey pool pandemic style. All the vulnerable and front liners have had their shots (except teachers of course) but we're still all wearing masks and physically/socially distancing... sure hope that's not true again next year, and that the vaccine acutally worked. Being stuck in the home bubble has gotten me started on plenty of projects, so I was pissed to find the pool wasn't working this year and I had to port it to a new version of the framework, but I'm glad that's over as I write this. For those of you who I used to often, sometimes, and seldom see... sure miss you guys.

2019 Update
Hey everyone,

Before Christmas I got a new computer and had to reinstall the stack that makes the hockey pool work. The last time I did any coding on the pool was in 2010, so most of the functions and methods it used were deprecated due to security vulnerabilities. After a half hour of trying to fix it and just ending up with more errors it became clear that a rewrite was necessary. With the end of the season upon us and people already reaching out about the pool, I have been coding like mad to get the new pool up and running. This rewrite was from scratch so expect some bugs...

Along those lines, I would strongly encourage you to take a screenshot of your picks this year, just in case. So far I've only ever written bullet-proof code. But that was before I had kids.

All of the data from the old pool will carry over so we'll have records since 2010. The first year I did the pool was 1997, but 13 years of data were lost - a reminder to back up your shit!

Expect an email from me soon once everything is ready to go. In the meantime, you will need to reset your password in order to log in. Use the "Forgot your password" feature to retrieve it. If you don't remember the email you used to register, let me know.
